I think this show will be EPIC. I, for one, think that several TS morsels will be delivered. Either way, I’m getting tix for this one.

Oh HELL yes. South Minneapolis to be precise.

Ah, then it is a no brainer for you!  For me it’s a matter of “do I go to Minneapolis for the second time this year to see a show featuring Matt Wilson and Dan Wilson not specifically playing as Trip Shakespeare when I’ve seen TTH twice in the past year and cancel my own band’s show in New York” you see!

No brainer indeed.

I was there for the 2003 “Semisonic reunion” show with The Flops and they played a good deal of TS songs. They may not play as many due to the other bands being featured, but I expect a few at least.

Difference, though, is that wasn’t billed as just a “Semisonic reunion”.  It was a Flop/Dan/Semi/Trip fest.

Basically, the music engineer genius behind both recording, and mixing live shows for Trip Shakespeare, Semisonic, Dan Wilson, The Flops, The New Standards, The Twilight Hours, and more. He’s seen more of these shows than anyone else on earth, and when asked about recording shows has said “yeah, sure, go ahead” and probably plugged everyone in to the board at any show bootleg that ever recorded a Trip show.

I’ve met Brad a handful of times over the years.  I seem to remember talking to him most during the Semisonic days.  A great guy.  I was pretty upset when I read about his bike accident a month back.  Did they ever catch the driver who hit him?

I rode my bike to work almost every day during my last year of working over in Germany and I remember thinking several times that I wish we were more bike friendly (or at least bike aware) over here in the US.  Reading about Brad’s accident brought many of these thoughts flooding back into my mind.  But anyway…

It looks like a great line-up.  Unfortunately, I’ve got a vacation planned in Spain for the first couple weeks of October so I won’t be able to attend.  Regardless of the fact that the line-up is not exactly “trippy” I would definitely attend if I had the chance.  There might be some surprise Trip songs on the bill but I would not make that a basis for your decisions to attend or not.  If you can go (and do go) then be happy that you’re helping Brad and enjoy a night of fantastic music!

I won’t be there either, but it looks like an excellent show.  I will also be in Spain, though a couple of weeks before Robbie, and another trip so soon just isn’t in the cards.  Look out for TNS Xmas show, however.  I hope to be there.

I was thinking the same thing, Heisy!

Even though I now have NO kids dragging me under….I still can’t find a way to go northwest….and I need to just say NO to the lure of <300 dollar flights….must save money…must save money…..

I have to say that after almost a year of Stereo Night the album is still being played….I can’t help but think that Dreams is a magical song…just hearing the beginning puts me on such a nice plane of existence…..wow…..I am finding myself listening to the album and sometimes…about 20 percent of the time…..skipping Alone, Forgot Me Now, Winter Blue, QOT ....I can’t get enough of the other songs…maybe because they’re still so new…except for Winter Blue which is new…but kindof bluesy….duh…...but….anyway….it’s really an incredible bunch of songs….and I think that I listen to the Twilight Hours more than Trip and I have to admit I haven’t listened to much of semisonic lately….except I did listen to AAC when I was canning tomatoes last week…..

i did it…i bought tickets for a show two days before my due date. eeeek. well, i’m sure it’ll sell out, so if it gets to that point and i’ve had her or i’m too wide to fit through the door, someone else will be the beneficiary. i think hcmc’s the closest hospital to first ave, right? smile

Nice…!

Surely you can use the handicap entrance and demand a seat in the front row…or perhaps on stage as mentioned previously!
