Hey…..I have to apologize for my absence this past week, but I am busy on the Jersey Shore doing a lot of nothing…...reading eating drinking….I did notice somebody wearing a the Flops t-shirt when I was on my morning run…and I knew I had to be related to the person…and of course I was….still it was quite satisfying to see!

I still have another week of vacation to go….and I am on the watch for bots when I get a chance….

..actually…I have seen parts of some of the last shows of the first season, and there was a huge push to watch the second episode of Season 2 on Thursday night…but the downstairs tv was reserved for the Phillies which went into extra innings and the upstairs tv was for the Union soccer game on ESPN….so Snookie lost out…fortunately for the teenagers, the show was re-run again at 11pm….I find for myself, that I can only watch a couple of minutes of the show, and then I have to throw-up….

...Hey I remembered the missing lyrics to one of the earlier versions of Landing…it went like this:

“If I ever played with the strings of your mind…you should see me searching for the crime…”

new version:

” If I ever played with the strings of your mind…you should see me searching for the ground now….”

I feel this change is remarkable for several reasons…in the original version there is no remorse for the tom-foolery string playing as evidenced by the searching for the crime lyric…in the second and recorded version….the lyric “searching for the ground now” reveals some sort of supplication and acknowledgement of guilt…which indicates a maturity of character….

I love to see these changes….and can’t wait for the new version of Flying….now I need to get back to my evening snack of red wine…sweedish fish..chocolate covered pretzels…and the coup de gras(sp?) ....black licorice….i don’t think I can stand too much more of this…..I need to get back to my oatmeal and fruit!!!!

The “searching for the ground"phrase also ties into the whole “flying and landing” theme. I can’t beleive that wasn’t the original lyric. It’s one of my favorite matt lines. I’m surprised someone brought it up. I love that line!! But it would not work unless it was in the context of the rest of the lyrics. “joker by the day, I was hard to survive, no one that I know remains around. If I ever played with the strings of your mind, you should see me searching for the ground now”

Maybe it’s personal, but I played with a girls heart for 5 years and now she’s married and I wish everyday that I could have done it different.

Not only is she just married, she’s married to someone who is better at everything that she was attracted to me for!!!

I agree the new lyric is perfect in many ways….I don’t recall any other lyrical differences since I haven’t found the recording…it’s just something I was able to pull out of the old memory card this week…

....I was never good at the dating thing…..I grew up in a bevy of boys and their friends…....didn’t see anything that impressed me all that much…..until I found my own Toolmaster…...

ugggh…...sure…I could unpack and get myself organized and pulled-together…but I’d rather hang out here and drink a glass of water…..and stare at all the sandy laundry….waaaaaahhhhhh….I did have an interesting idea yesterday whilst on the beach….

YOu all know that Matt has previously stated that the Trip song Spirit…“moves me the most”.....and then I remembered one of the new songs is called Spirit of Life….and I thought that maybe there was a connection….so I listened real carefully to Spirit and obviously that’s about death, cremation and heaven…..right?....and then Spirit of Life is the total opposite of that….so what does that mean?????

Now that my vacation is over I need to go on a pro-active program to “kick some ass” as Matt would say….out of all the job openings that have been made available since January for which I am mostly over-qualified I haven’t even gotten an interview…I feel like if I could just meet somebody face to face I could clearly win them over and they would find some task for me to perform….alas….

So….even now I’ve just applied for a job which is just about an hour away with much travelling on the turnpike…and thinking this would be great if I could just get an interview…..and then thinking…crap, that’s a far commute…..but I’m already thinking of how I can spend my earnings….mostly to tuition payments…still….the construction industry around here is really in the tank and it keeps on tanking….
