I’m a little confused today.  Not that I could attend anyway (the ol’ “being in Germany” excuse) but was TTH’s show on Thursday or Friday?

The SPACE website said Thursday but TTH has been listing it as Friday (tonight) for weeks.  I’ve been pushing a group of friends from Chicago to make their way North to Evanston tonight.  It looks like I may have been misled by the listing on the TTH site.  Weird.

OK, so if the show was last night instead then how was it?  Did TTH show up?  Maybe they were confused by the date also…

Good set list.  Thanks for posting.

So, was the show well attended?  Old audience, young audience, a mix?  Did you witness (or participate in) any youtubery?

I just heard that the Gear Daddies are in Chicago tonight playing at the Double Door.  One of my other favorite MN bands.

It would have been a GREAT weekend to visit the Windy City!  I’m sorry I missed out.

Kara - very impressive to see you name that tune in 4 words. I’m also intrigued… A new one?

Call Me is haunting with John’s vocals…

...hey Host and guest…any other information about the show to flesh out the set list…what was the crowd like? Any plaid?

Nice to see troublemaker on the list…I am looking forward to hearing the spiffed-up version…!

Here’s a link to My Return from the Milwaukee show!

That’s some great YouTubery…“that’s what she said”....anyway….the band sounds great…I think I heard much more Jacque action on this song…and John looked like he was ready to bust loose there at the end…..!

I went to both the Chicago and the Milwaukee shows and both were very well-attended.

SPACE was a really cool venue and they even had a grand piano for Dave to play on.  I think the audience skewed towards mid-30s and up, but I was there as well as a 12/13 year old kid with his parents.  It was a little awkward though as the band had to go through the audience to get on-stage and off, as opposed to coming out from a stage door.  Matt joked about loving his electric guitar so much that he wakes up with string marks on his face from sleeping with it.

In Milwaukee, they played at Shank Hall and did the same set except “Queen of Tomorrow” came before “Telephone” and then they did an encore of Love Somebody (The Way I Do), Descender and Please Let Us Stay With You.  In this case, there were no 12/13 year old kids, so I would feel pretty confident in saying that my girlfriend and I were the youngest ones there.  At one point John and Jacques nearly bumped into each other on-stage, so Matt suggested that John should use what semitrucks have and there should be a loud beeping noise any time he starts to back up on stage.

Jacques blew me away both nights.  There’s such a vintage sound to what he does, it feels like it from another era.

They formally introduced the song as “Call Me”, and it is indeed awesome.  Here’s a link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EfAXG_A0pw

Oh, I just listened to “Call Me” three times via that link. Do you ever that feeling, when something sounds so intoxicating and warm, that your chest opens up a little bit and you can breathe more easily? That’s how I feel when I hear this song. The next album is going to be great. Have I mentioned how glad I am that these guys are making music together again?
