I went to both the Chicago and the Milwaukee shows and both were very well-attended.
SPACE was a really cool venue and they even had a grand piano for Dave to play on. I think the audience skewed towards mid-30s and up, but I was there as well as a 12/13 year old kid with his parents. It was a little awkward though as the band had to go through the audience to get on-stage and off, as opposed to coming out from a stage door. Matt joked about loving his electric guitar so much that he wakes up with string marks on his face from sleeping with it.
In Milwaukee, they played at Shank Hall and did the same set except “Queen of Tomorrow” came before “Telephone” and then they did an encore of Love Somebody (The Way I Do), Descender and Please Let Us Stay With You. In this case, there were no 12/13 year old kids, so I would feel pretty confident in saying that my girlfriend and I were the youngest ones there. At one point John and Jacques nearly bumped into each other on-stage, so Matt suggested that John should use what semitrucks have and there should be a loud beeping noise any time he starts to back up on stage.
Jacques blew me away both nights. There’s such a vintage sound to what he does, it feels like it from another era.
They formally introduced the song as “Call Me”, and it is indeed awesome. Here’s a link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EfAXG_A0pw
