Thanks for the reports. Amps are tough to date from a distance, they’re all pretty much designed to “hark-en back” to a previous style or look “classic”. I appreciate the effort, but you noticed shoes and could only describe the guitars as “brown”? You got a “COL” (chuckle out loud) outta me with that.

Seeing these guys in a small club, with that intimate feel, even in New York, I count it as one of those luxuries in life. And it’s right under everyone’s noses. Like if Neil Young never became popular but wrote and performed all of his songs, in clubs for 12 bucks. The fact that the rest of the world is unaware makes it tragic and even more special at the same time. Like finding a Spanish Galleon ship, full of Mayan gold in an under water cave, never telling anyone, but returning to it several times a year just to marvel at it with your life’s love. Or your brother.

..I know, Spike…it is a gold mine….everytime they play out here it’s like this…except for when Semisonic hit the big time and played in the bigger venues…..it’s in a small venue…heck…when the Flops played in Bryn Mawr in a coffe/shop type of place there were about 15 people in the crowd with half of them with me! I do remember after that performance, a woman came up to Matt afterwards and started talking about the song Diane and how important that song was to her…it was a joy to listen to her….and her passion for TS…..

So….I have to realize I’ve been extremely lucky that these guys continue to travel to the east coast so I can see them play in all their combinations over these years…I’ve got to do better on my musical instrument descriptions…I am aware that I am lacking in that department!

Spike,
Nice analogy:  TTH = a Neil Young who never got “discovered.”  Let’s hope it doesn’t end up that way.
