Just giving SN a 200th re-listen.

Do my golden ears deceive me, or is that an electric piano doubling the guitar on Yes after the drums kick in?

Never noticed it before.

i have never noticed that before from my 62 listens on itunes (and many more from the CD in the car), but yeah that’s definitely a keyboard playing along with the guitar.

i still maintain “yes” sounds like a radio hit to me. so catchy.

I might have heard a keyboard just before the vocals began but I can just as easily convince myself that I only heard a guitar.

I took a quick look at the album credits posted on TTH’s website and I didn’t see anything about a keyboard:

Yes
Matt Wilson
Guitars: Matt
Bass: John
Drums: Eric Fawcett
Percussion: Ken Chastain
Additional vocals: Joanna James and Janey Winterbauer

However, I doubt that this is really a definitive answer.

By the way, has anyone else noticed on that album credits page that ‘Dreams’ is titled ‘Not Pretend’?  I wonder if that was a working title…

Especially since there’s a piano in “Not Pretend”.  Such a negative title.

(edit)  Oh, those are the credits just for “Yes” itself…oh well, I think they lie!

Keyboard is between the point where the drums kick in and Matt’s vocal starts. Can’t hear it on the chorus or the solo.

And, ‘Not Pretend’ (aka ‘Dreams’) does list a piano:

Not Pretend
Matt Wilson
Guitars; Matt
Baritone Guitar: Matt
Bass: John
Piano: Matt
Drums: Eric Fawcett
Percussion: Ken Chastain
Strings; Joanna and Jacqueline
Additional Engineering Brad Kern

Anyway, I think I can convince myself that I also hear a keyboard between the drums and the vocals starting.
